The vision and mission of founder President Late Sri. Mahadevappa Rampure has been carried out by then Hon’ble President Dr. A.B. Malakareddy and initiated by Late Sri. A.V. Patil. The branch of HKE Society’s College was started in the year 1980 at Aland with an intention to provide education to the rural poor students.

The building was well established on 22 acres of college campus and designed by the architects of our society engineer having the U shape.

Principal C.R. Bada with his great efforts included the College under 2(f) vide govt. order No. F8-34/81(cp) dt.22-12-1982. At the initial stage he introduced N.C.C and N.S.S Programme so as to develop the students physically and mentally.

The College started sugar technology and Horticulture in science faculty.

H.K.E.S Arts Science & Commerce Degree College was named as Annarao Veerabhadrappa Patil Arts, Science & Commerce College, Aland.

The NAAC accreditation is the major event. During the period of Principal Sri. S.R. Hatti, Staff, Students, Alumni, Parents, Local Leaders and Hon’ble President Sri. Basawaraj Bhimalli helped to upgrade the college with “B” Grade which is one of the great achievements.

Presently this college has 3 faculties i.e. Arts, Science and Commerce.

The total strength of the college for the year 2008-09 is 392.

The present permanent teaching staff strength is 25 out of which 4 are Ph.D. and 3 are M.Phil. holders. The college office in fully computerized and managed by 8 permanent non teaching staff. Library is the heart of the college and having 15,829 Books. Magazines and Journals are provided, Three Kannada daily newspapers and Two English daily newspapers are available in the library. This college has maintained SC/ST book bank and open access system. There is separate reading room for boys and girls, and also for staff members. Library is computerized and data based. And the Author and title wise classifications have been maintained.

The College has N.C.C. unit with a strength of 82 students and Two N.S.S. units with a strength of 100 each, Two N.S.S. officers are functioning with an aim to bring community orientation by adopting one village every year. It has conducted many health camps, blood donation camps and AIDS awareness camps etc.

The reflection of this college can be seen with positions held by its alumni 3 ranks at U.G. level and 6 ranks at PG level and one TOFEL success student on our credit. Apart from this considerable number of students got distinctions and first classes at both U.G. and P.G. levels. Majority of qualified alumni have opted for teaching and bank profession.
